Samira

Samira is knowledgeable in a wide range of frameworks and the development of courses and training focused on increasing knowledge and has an ability to communicate strategy, project execution, business re-engineering, governance and risk management within culturally diverse teams by optimising individual and group strengths, effective training/workshops and other means of stakeholder engagement and collaboration. Samira’s journey into risk management started about 18+ years ago and has seen her rise from Sales and Relationship Management at Commercial Banking Group, to become Lead, Environmental & Social Risk Management/Sustainability at Guaranty Trust Bank PLC. Her seven-year stint at Guaranty Trust included working in Market Risk, Credit risk, Operational Risk and Business Continuity. In 2015, she joined AXAMansard, a member of AXA S.A Global Group, as Risk Manager and exited as Chief Risk Officer & Chief Security Officer in August 2022.

She joined she joined Sparkle Nigeria, a neobank, as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Risk Officer and took on oversight responsible for developing and embedding an integrated governance, risk, security, and control framework across the organization covering policy and strategy setting, business operations and activities, product development, people and resource management, IT engineering, IT infrastructure, customer relations, investments, financial management and security from September 2022 to January 2024.

She is a certified senior lead implementer in ISO 30001 (Risk Management), ISO 23001 (Business Continuity Management), ISO 27001 (Information Security) and ISO 28000 (Supply Chain Security).  And  is currently pursuing a Postgraduate in Cybersecurity at the McCombs Business School.
